Spiders in the window

I had spiders in my laundry room. I didn’t think much about it, I usually keep them around for entertainment & as a first line of defense against mosquitos. But late one night as I was flashlighting around the house, finishing the day, checking doors & laundry, the beam of my light made shadows from my spiders. Really nice spider shadows.

With pillows & a chair, I figured a way to set up the flashlight to keep the shadows in place, found my camera & started taking pictures. I was pleased with what I got. I kept at it.

Years of obsession later led to a need to see spider knees. Here’s what I have…….

Later, I got involved with a batch of spider in a frosted window that had an eastern view full of morning sunlight. If I got up early enough (always & still my biggest chore-with-rewards), I got more pictures I really liked. I miss that window.

At the bottom of the frosted spider window is the dumping ground for generations of spider tribes

Meanwhile, outside & around the yard...more spiders…

Mom & the kids, all waiting for dinner

There are soap plants all around here. Little bugs, wasps & this spider, too

I don’t know their names or official designations beyond the common Daddy Longlegs or Ground Spider or Jumping Spider. They don’t seem to mind & they pose well.

And Photoshop...I like it

The last scene in the life of a nearsighted fly

this is the hairy spider leg & knee I wanted to see.

since spiders, I’ve had time & opportunity to hang with the hornets & wasps. If you like this stuff, let me know...
